What is New Student Orientation?
The mission of orientation is to help students and their parents transition into the intellectual, cultural and social climate of Johnson & Wales University; to encourage student learning and development; to provide support to parents and families and to prepare students for a career focused education. Connecting with the university begins long before students attend their first class. Students who feel a sense of belonging early in their college career tend to adapt faster to their new environment, perform better academically and persist to graduation.
Orientation is a mandatory program for new students and is highly recommended for their parent(s) or guardian(s). This program is the initial step in joining the Johnson & Wales University family. We encourage you to actively participate.
