BUS TOUR OF DENVER*
Tour departs from the Student Union
Experience the mile-high city in a completely new way as you tour historic
Denver and its metropolitan area. The tour is encourages visitors to “get
off the bus” to explore the treasures that Denver has to offer.
On this tour you will: visit the historic Brown Palace Hotel, travel
through Lower Downtown (LoDo) and Larimer Square, see beautiful Coors
Field-home of the Colorado Rockies baseball club and INVESCO Field at
Mile High Stadium-home of the Denver Broncos football team, tour the
beautiful Colorado State Capitol building, hear from costumed guides
on a tour of the home of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” and
pass through Denver’s historic neighborhoods and city parks.

Join other J&W families as we kick off the “All That Wildcat
Jazz” weekend! Enjoy pavlova, brigadeiro and various other desserts
made popular during the roaring twenties while listening to the Pearl
Street Jazz Quartet as they perform the classics from Duke Ellington,
Jelly Roll Morton, the Gershwins, and more. Throughout the evening you’ll
get the chance to meet “Bubbles Malone,” some speakeasy gangsters
that have been wrangled in for the evening and Gino Mozzarella, a magician
traveling through time to entertain you. Throw on your fedora and feather
boa, roll up your sleeves and get your picture taken to capture the energy
of this memorable evening.

other families and students from the Johnson & Wales community before

Enjoy 18 holes of golf at Heritage Eagle Bend, one of Denver’s
premier country clubs. Hosted by the J&W student chapter of the Club
Managers Association of America (CMAA), the tournament will benefit the
Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Campus will come alive with a variety of departmental activities, vendors,
meet and greets, and ‘20’s style fun!

Make your way through the back alley entrance and join us in the Wildcat
Speakeasy for the premier event of Family Weekend 2006! An upscale dinner
based on traditional dishes and desserts of the era will be available
as you enjoy your Speakeasy experience. In addition, the Swing Street
Orchestra will transport you back to the lovely and exciting time of
the Charleston and Black-Bottom, Zoot Suits and feather boas. When Pink
Champagne takes the stage, the sounds of the Andrews Sisters and Tuxedo
Junction will come back to life. Put on your dancing shoes and prepare
to swing with the flapper dancers while you enjoy “All That Wildcat
Jazz!”
Sunday, October 9

Enjoy our Sunday brunch before you leave campus. Brunch favorites include
omelets made to order, pastries, Belgian waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage,
hash browns, fresh salad bar, soup, pizza, deli bar, and grill favorites.
This meal is part of your student’s on-campus meal plan.**
*There are a limited number of spaces available for this event. Please
make your reservations early to ensure your attendance at any of the
events.
**If your student does not participate in the 7-day meal plan, the
meal will cost $7.50.
***Dinner selections are beef or vegetarian.
